Who We Are

Bluegrass Youth Debate is a student-led nonprofit organization that teaches students of all backgrounds how to debate, with a focus on public speaking and research skills. We aim to cultivate the next generation of leaders with our dedication and passionate of forensics. We provide free and accessible education, no matter our students' income, age, or location.

SERVICES

Bluegrass Youth Debate provides a variety of services including

in-person and virtual debate bootcamps, bimonthly topic seminars, one-on-one personalized meetings, and scrimmages to focus on whatever you need to maximize your skills.

EVENTS

Bluegrass Youth Debate offers partnerships with middle and high schools, providing free coaching to teams of students. While hosting workshops throughout Kentucky, we additionally provide opportunities for extensive virtual events and connections​

WHY DEBATE?

Speech and debate cultivates an environment for youth to grow into becoming learners and leaders. Debate empowers student to think critically, speak confidently, and foster empathy by understanding multiple perspectives. Developing public speaking and research skills it vital for success in the classroom and workplace, making it an essential activity for all students to engage in. Speech and debate inspires students to use their voices to create the next generation of civically engaged youth.
